Travis Whenham - President/Principal
Travis has an extensive entrepreneurial background, dating back to the early 1990s when he ran a successful painting franchise during his final two years of university. He has also ran a successful real estate practice, a home renovation and landscaping company, and a family-owned and operated trucking company.
Travis found a home in the chemical industry in 2007 with the purchase of a local blending and distribution company called Murray’s Soap Factory. Using his customer service skills developed over the previous 20 years, Travis and his team were able to grow Murray’s Soap Factory while simultaneously changing the business model of the 25-year-old company. In 2013, Murray’s Soap Factory acquired a chemical blending competitor, along with a blending facility, in St. Albert. The two companies were then rebranded as Chemisphere Solutions Ltd.
Travis was born in Edmonton and raised on a small farm west of the city. He has been happily married to Melissa since 1999 and they have four children. He enjoys reading, playing piano and, most importantly, camping and exploring new adventures with his family.

Melissa Whenham - Principal
Melissa has a diverse background and has been directly involved in the chemical industry since 2007 when she and her husband purchased Murray’s Soap Factory. Before that, her most interesting occupation was working as an undercover private investigator. Her motivation to become self-employed grew after working for various provincial and federal government agencies from 2004-2007.
Now with Chemisphere, Melissa’s education and experience in accounting and human resource serves her well in handling the company’s payroll, human resource administration and other various accounting and management duties.
Melissa was primarily raised in Edmonton although she has also lived in Ottawa and Montreal. As a mother of three boys and a little girl, Melissa works hard to balance her role as business owner and family CEO. Melissa loves spending time with her family and looks forward to camping and ATV adventures. Her other passions include yoga, hiking and riding her motorcycle whenever she gets a chance.
